quick question about nct failure

my car failed recently on a whole host of things most of them i can fix but it has also failed on the exhaust noise which i dont think was fair because i have the original cat on there and it has a jasma rated zero sports world league cat-back which should be under 92db at close proximity, when he tested it he put the microphone very close to the exhaust and revved the car fairly hard and it was 104db.
what can i do as i really cant think of any way of making the car quieter? :dontknow:

heres a link to the exhaust specs

There is guidelines about how far away they place the mic & at what angle etc but they just ignore all of that. To get a proper reading they would need to be in a soundproof room too but thats not gonna happen either
Best thing to do is buy/get a loan of an exhaust bung for the nct & rip it back out as soon as you leave the centre

Same reading as me yesterday with standard system. i was told i coild ram some coarse steel wool up there. near the nct centre and dont drive it hard. take it out as soon as.

Unfortunately in NCT centres they dont do test properly. Its easier to build a deathstar then prove them wrong...

what i would sugggest:

Drive up to NCT

Put on of these just before test:

Pass nct

Take it off
