Six people were arrested for drink driving while fourteen were arrested for public order offences. Gardai are also investigating a number of serious assaults in relation to which three people were arrested. "Boyracers were again attempting to block sections of the Killarney-Cork road last night for speed races. Around 50 of them congregated at Minish where there is a long stretch of road. Killarney Gardaí sent units of the traffic corps to disperse the gathering. The Rally of the Lakes took place in the area over the weekend. Two cars were impounded in the town last night and there were 10 people arrested. It brings the weekend total to 24 cars impounded and more than 30 arrests. However, Gardaí say there was no major incident or injury."
