Rallyconnection fun

So as a member of Apple Motorsport club at work, few workmates and I went to have some fun in RallyConnection near Dungarvan in co.Waterford.

We were given 2 Escorts RS2000 for 16 laps altogether.
They also have a RWD Starlet and 2 rally impreza classics.

I was actually looking forward to see how it will go in RS2000 as always liked them and never had had an opportunity to try.
I've been rallying mostly in FWD Clio Williams long time ago, and also I'm rather familiar with AWD rally cars.

These RWD Escorts are something different. I adjusted quite quickly and did a good time for wet conditions.

The instructor was quite happy with my techniques even if the first round when I was learning the car, he said I was too happy on the gas pedal in the corner exits, which caused too much oversteer lol

I took the first place among the group with 3 seconds advantage on the lap over the second guy...

I really recommend RallyConnection for the first Rally experience! they have a really nice and interesting track with many hairpins etc.

I will definitely be returning to them to renew my Rally Licence which had expired some time ago.

Well done Peter

Look like a great way to spend the day, was it expensive?

We had it subsidized by Apple. Paid €100 and I don't remember when I was having more fun lol..
I'd like to have an opportunity to run the RS2000 in a rally someday. I'm going to have to renew my rally license first though.

(just noticed not all the pics have uploaded at first, now have them fixed )

  looks like a great do out  100 lids sounds very good for 16 laps so probley be 150 or so without sub :dontknow:

:changinggear:I was there about 10years ago when the track was all loose and the escorts had 8v 1600 opels in them, a better day out than rally school ireland I taught.
