rear brakes on a newage

rite lads have a 2005 1.6 ts blobeye and im converting it into an STI replica. so far everything is going great.
But 1 thing that has being bothering me for a long time now is the drums on the back!!!
If I was to change it to a disc set-up, what sort of car would I have to get it all from, like would it have to be off of a newage or will the set-up on a classic work??

If ya could help me out it would be great, thanks.

It would have to be new age MY01-MY07 WRX if your looking for WRX rear breaks, if your looking for Brembos of an STi it would be an STi set up from MY01-MY03 STi as the 05-07 STi set up won't match your car as it was wide track.

Off a wrx, yes but not off any newage sti. They use fatter shafts so they won't be compatible with your rear diff

Was going to do it myself with the 1.6 and think you need to change a lot more than the rear axel and hubs.
Dont think the driveshaft is the same size as a sti :dontknow:

:smokin:

Look for a new age car thats been broken for parts , dont have to be off an sti or wrx mind , later n/a cars such as the 2.0 r and rx etc all came with rear disks , which should swap straight over to the 1.6 ts ,

doin this my self at the mo i got hubs of i think a 98 99 wrx and the hubs are the same but if you can get newer obviously go for them its pretty straight forward

all i need to change is the hubs, so if i found a newage wrx that should suit it..
cheers for the help fella's :multijump:
eventually it'll get done
