Rear diff for Version 5 Sti

Need to replace the rear diff in my 98 V5 Impreza...

Anyone have one of know of one?
Havin trouble getting a good one

I think i remember Markobucko saying in a prevous thread his old boss or someon he knows rebuilds them

Might be worth dropping a PM his way

Yours is a type-r i think isnt it? You need the R180 rear diff in that case as opposed to the R160 in normal classic sti's. Breakers up the north were charging £200 about 4months ago for one. Give Euro auto salvage or McKeevers a ring to find out what they are now and you can compare that to the price of rebuilding your own

Yeah its a type r! thought they were different but was nt sure. Presume the Type r and ra are the same then?

Ye, type-r & ra and also newage sti's

v5 be 4.44 R180 diff. And as above be about e250-300
