recommend a good winter tyre

Looking for some advice on some winter tyres, for the wife's Qashqai and also for mine(i have a spare set of wheels doing nothing)

Also would a budget tyre offer better performance in current weather compared to decent summer tyres such as eagle f1's or sessanta's?

Nokian hakapelitta 4 with or without studs.
Also Blizzards are worth looking at. very soft rubber, but holds car just over limit (from other drivers experience not mine)

budget winter will be better in the winter than premium, top of the range summer- make no mistake- the difference should be massive like. having said that premium all-season would be better in the winter than budget winter. sensible tyres for irish climate (big freeze and wee blizards considerd ) would be nokian wr g2 or vredestein quatrac 3- would get you most places and if it thaws, and the temp shoot up it would be still very good, in fact one can drive on them down through the summer- obvoiusly not as good as dedicated summer ones but would be way better than budget summer of a brand that even google did not heard of
