Now dont get me wrong i know theres a detailer on here and his work is first class im not looking to use it to valet,Im just after spraying my bike and i just want to compound the body work as its for sale and theres a bit of orange peel on the paint ,if any one knows where i could rent one,i bought a cheap one and i say it would have a hard enough job scrambling eggs, useless isnt the word, thanks

Detailor.ie sells one for 100euro. Good investment if you can buy one instead of renting.

cheap polisher is useless to cut back, you need a buffer, like an angle grinder with variable speeds and some cutting paste, dont know where you get one to rent? 3 or 400 to buy

its a hard skill cutting back, not just the tools required but knowledge of the paint depth etc

Cheers for the help lads, not really that well up on bodywork, whats a orbital polisher thanks

one that rotates in a random orbital pattern, doesnt spin on a fixed axis so less chance of a newbie wrecking their paint by using it

Good for occasional use, plenty of lads have given them good reviews and seem to last ok quality wise but you get what you pay for.. you'd struggle to rent one for 2 days for the price of the silverline

Jesus, thats cheap.. mite buy one myself at that price

The next step up is the kestrel SIM180 at about £20 more expensive.. If you are going to be using it regularly then it would be worth investing in a Makita or chicago at about £200 as they are better made and lighter too so the arms don't fall off you

You get them for handy money on ebay.I know alot of people dont rate ebay stuff, but 50% of the stuff in the garage and about 80%
of the stuff in/on the car came from there
