reverse camera installation

Lads i was thinking of getting a camera for reversing as the legacy estate is a long bus and don't want to be knocking it,there is a DVD head unit in the car already so just like to plug it in and tap into the reverse cable some how.

Any ideas on how to do this?

If the head unit had a video input socket it's just a matter of running cables and fitting camera. You can run a Feed from reverse switch/lights to activate camera.

You can get a number plate surround that has a camera built in very neat mds sells them.

Thanks lads,i haven't yet looked at the back of the head unit to see what it has but good idea to run off the reverse light as i don't think i could find the reverse switch, i see that number plate surround last night but i could only fine the long surround and i have the box plate at the back

Based on my own experience I'd suggest running the camera from an ignition switched live feed into an auxiliary input if you have the option - that way you can view the camera whenever you want and not just when reversing. That's how I hooked up the rear view camera on our old Shogun and it was very handy for things like keeping an eye on loads while towing and such.
