road tax

its a bit of a disaster really, i have the subaru at the house would not really drive it that much but if i decide too i could up to now, put a bit of tax on it and away ya go but now its either on the road or of the road, prob mean a lot of the higher tax range of cars gettin the door, or back to uk reg cars and take the chance with the customs

just change the ownership and tax it
then after that either have it taxed
or declared off the road
until we see how it all pans out would be my view

If your car is declared off the road, you can still legally drive it so long as you're either bringing it to an NCT centre or to a garage for repairs to pass an NCT.

They've always been able to hit people with a bill of unpaid car tax from when a new owner buys it, they've just made it more watertight now by making people declare it off the road in advance.

Majority of people saying they never will and they're not that organised and we can still do as we used to and just sign a new owner and back tax is gone.

Personally with the new system I'd rather keep my arse to the wall than chance a tax bill in the door.
