at the end of the day roy keane is right... the ball should have been cleared...

Ball would of went wide..............GOAL KICK.

My instant reaction watching the match wednesday was why did the irish players stop playing when henry handled the ball-play the whistle. Roy keane was the only Irishman in japan 2002 who went there to WIN-he was dead right to walk away-everyone elses attitude was "isnt it great to be here..sure we might even win a game!" Who got to the semis that year???? Turkey and South Korea, had we beaten Spain-which we very nearly did-the side of the draw we would have been on was the side S.Korea progressed through-we could very well have been in the final-look at Greece winning europe!

Again ball would of went wide ...Goal kick.

It wasnt good enough but im sure alot of the other teams had sh*t pitches etc and got on with it. Most of the work is done before you go to a world cup. Keane thinks hes better than everyone else.
Keane was the only one who wanted to win. We nearly beat Spain for feck sake. if Keane was playing we would of and maybe won the world cup. Take a bow Keano :icon_pray: :icon_pray:

hes right

i dont see how anybody can disagree"if they know football"

ireland didnt take there chances and thats that!

maradona done it in "86 to england and yes we still hear about it but thats the english, we still hear about "66

keane as much as i hate the man u scum, speachs sence and sounds just like clough years ago

he walked out on ireland because they were unprofessional

i have played football in england and the league of ireland and if i turned up for training and there were no balls i would be pissed never mind at international level.

i have also played for ireland at school boy level and for the irish collage team and never once did it feel professional to wards playing in england, its like the fai feel like its just good enough to take part, were as other countrys do there upmost to win.

One person forgets to bring the balls , silly mistake but everyone makes mistakes and you let down your whole country and walk out on them and all the people who spend thousands going to Japan. Well done Keano. Legend. He thinks hes better then all of us when at the end of the day hes a thug who trys to end peoples careers. If he broke your leg with a dirty nasty tackle I dont think ye'd be praising him :hand:

He nearly crys when someone forgets to put their phone on silent. Hes a big baby at the end of the day and he'll end up being a lonely man when he gets older. His best friend is his dog anyway. The dog has more personality. God help his wife. Hope she never burns the dinner

At the end of the day a replay was never going to happen but FIFA as saying its ok to handball and cheat if you get away with it. France as dirty diving, handballing cheating scum and are going to the world cup ahead of us. The least FIFA could do is bring in new rules where the player is punished for cheating or a video ref. Fifa need to get with the times. Too much riding on football these days

so you think forgetting to bring balls to the WORLD CUP is a silly mistake

keane's anger comes from the FAI and if you followed the league of ireland or looked up what fooking stupid mistakes they have made over the last 20 years you would agree, they are total idiots!

the phone thing, that reporters phone had gone off before and keane said nothing, you would think PROFESSIONALISUM would come into it and he would turn his phone off or to silent, people in churches do it every day out of respect, why go out of your way to interview someone and than not respect that.

for me i like the way keane played football, the old way when it was a mans game and you could tackle, that time he done alf inge haaland was because he accused keane of divng after he done his knee in and alf stood over him calling for him to get up, keane is not one for diving towards some players nowadays and took offence to that, so was then on a mission to get him back, alf should have known better and as the say "never let your enemy get in the first dig",

i do agree with you on the fifa thing, times have moved on and we do need some sort of video ref to sort out goal line incidents but it should be kept to just in the box as if it were the hole pitch the game would become boring

Who said he walked out? He didn't' walk out he walked out of the meeting called McCarthy a cnut and stormed off he never said he was leaving...Mick McCarthy held a press conference BEFORE talking to Keane again and announced he had walked out on the camp and didn't know what he was going to do...Keane was cornered and like anyone cornered he closed ranks...the FAI and McCarthy made the decision to have that press conference before letting him calm down.
That happened Niall quinn has confirmed that's the order it happened in, they pre-empted his move..people throw wobblers all the time thats how life his...you have all bought the media side of the story..Keane is a fcuking ejet and a stupidly proud man but it should of been kept behind closed doors until the LAST possible moment my bets are it would of been resolved. SO people calling him a traitor have probably never played competitive sports and understand how fcuked off you can get when things don't go your way..BUT you cool down..Keane wasn't given that chance..They knew how he would react and they knew the slating they where in for, so they made him out to be a quitter...anyone who watched him play against holland through a knee injury would never call him a traitor.
All this rubbish about a replay its complete and utter bollox...plain and simple it was never going to happen and anyone who thought it was is not a football supporter...you get decisions like that..you learn to deal with the pain...ya don't whine and moan and cry to anyone who will listen..you suck it up and move on

you cant take a chance and think the ball will go wide.... and if the defence did their job it would have been cleared

when playing soccer at any club level you get to the ball first and dont let it bounce... especially with the talent the french have lurking around the goal mouth...

i agree that something has to be done... even if they only a linesman behind the goal like in the europa league it would be a help..

not the first time the FAI made a balls of things.. making statements saying they and trappatoni had made contact with stephen ireland to come back to the irish team...when they didnt

it must have a kick in the teeth when they had to make another one saying they didnt contact him.......

Yeah agree something should be done..for me there should be 2 refs one in front of the ball at all time and one behind it..as they do in basketball

I'll read these replys later lol. I just hope Shefield Wednesday hammer Ipswich today. A sneaky hand ball into the back of the net would be the icing on the cake haha.

Cheat

A real tough man from Cork :icon_pray:

The blokes a twat,It was amazing how a question regarding a handball, suddenly ended up about keane in japan again. He would wont to get over that,he has a track record of walking away, ireland and sunderland. His a hypocrite. Just because he was a great player doesnt make him a great person.
Its people that acutally listen to him is whats wrong with ireland, this english attiude that were better than everyone.
Were a small country of 4million people we dont have the grass root facilites of other nations to bring up youths through the ranks and we dont have the income of the english fa,the Fai can only do what they can with limited resources keane was expecting a manchester untied backroom staff and training facilites in japan, that was his problem he wasnt Pampered like at utd,we have gotten so far as a team through hard work and a great attitude, and the likes of keane, stephen ireland are a cancer which runs through clubs i.e Newcastle, big egos that expect better than the rest.
I get a sick feeling in my stomach when people say they support keane for what he said, why because he slated an irish team who threw everything at france the 7 highest ranked Team in the world, and made little to no mistakes with some players who dont play at such a high level as the french players and its still not good enough for some people.
You say keane.I say achievment.

They should have umpires behind or beside the goal like in gaelic games. And yes keane is a certified knob :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

it wasnt the handball that brought that up........ it was FAI that was brought into it and that knob delaney..

if keane didnt have the facilities all along i dont think he was expecting them in japan....

dont know what you mean by saying" achievement" because they didnt achieve anything... they played good football, had loads of chances and couldnt finish them.....

I just hope Shefield Wednesday hammer Ipswich today.

so do i as im an OWL
an i hate keano hope he gets em relagated

the ball wasn't cleared, so what.. it happens in alot of games at every level.. handball is a handball.. I supported Keano thru out the whole world cup saga... until about last year when He started to get on my wick... he has a chip on his shoulder and alot of anger, basically he's turned into a pri*k.

Small country we may be-but if we dont have the facilties then WHY ARE WE RANKED #5 IN THE WORLD IN RUGBY? WHY CANT THE SAME APPLY TO SOCCER?

What a w@nker :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :icon_hang:

I would never respect or listen to the opinion of a traitor :angry1: I fooking HATE TRAITORS!!!!

If I were given the opportunity to play for my country, I would swim there if thats what it took.
Everything else is irrelevent when you have an chance to represent your home land, and that includes flights, training ground, equipment and personal feelings towards the management

Fair play to our boys for their fantastic preformance over the 2 legs, pity about the cheating bast@rd Henry and the blind linesman

I agree lads cant stand Roy Keane actually I never could!!!!!

When it comes to the FAI he has always something to say!!!!!!

When questioned about Sunderland he had nothing positive to say and by the looks of it Ipswich are done too!!!!!!

He cant manage a smile let alone a football team!!!!!
