Running with no octane booster

So car is going in to get mapped early march, and iv just ran low on petrol. So im going take the next while to run with no octane booster to clean any remaining booster out of the tank and lines. I should go through about 80 litres (2 tanks) in the next month. So that should be more than adequate pre mapping.

So question is, I know I cant be bouncing it off the limiter or drag racing off the line or anything, but just how easy do I need to take it? Should I stay out of boost all together or can I have a little fun just not take the p*ss?

I'd stay out of boost just to be safe
The car will pull timing if it picks up knock but unless I had some sort of knock link in I'd just take it easy as your just guessing until it's mapped.
My wr1 was mapped for e5 back in the day ran savage on it then it stopped so had to use booster but when I had no booster the car was dead because it was pulling timing and under heavy load the KS3 would be way up, small bit of booster and it was a different car great power with no knock

Sound lads, gonna be a very boring month now ha. And Eanna iv actually gone with joe power in Dublin. Seemed more practical for a daily map and he might have access to a dyno too which would be good. With the decat plus rcm fuel pump and rcm intake I could be looking at over 300bhp

I run without booster and I just stay off boost.
Mine is my daily but it's all motorway driving so no need to be flat out.just change gear before you start boosting that's what I do.
Keith is right it should pull timing if it detects any knock and will take out all the power.

Yup bill and Keith on the money there Denso ecu on newage particularly good at pulling it back.

Dave have a 3 port in mine and running 300 bhp not totally critical but does a better job of controlling the boost than oem 2port or so I beleve.

If it was there I'd fit it can't hurt.

As far as I can make out the 2 port is like a switch on and off as for the 3 port it vents to air so it can control the boost better by venting it ........that's my 2 cents lol

Yeah I was thinking it cant hurt to throw it on as I got it with the car. But from talking to both Aungus and Joe they both said its not necessary for mapping on stock turbo. They're exactly as described good at holding boost at the top end but wouldn't be needed for my stage 1.5 map, but then again it doesn't look like I will sell it so I might throw it on, cant hurt like.

Will be fine Dave.

Had your car 4-5 years and never once put octane booster in it. Never had any problems but then again its had a very easy life when I owned it.

Cant wait to see what the end result will be after Joe gets done with it.

I've had 4 Legacy B4's and none were mapped and never used ocatane boosters and all ran perfect?
My legacy B4 I have now is not mapped yet and never use octane boosters and runs fine and pulls well?
I only use Maxol fuel but never once used booster? I got a folder full of receipts and a lot of them are from.halfords for octane boosters years ago but I never used booster and I doubt the previous owner did either?
