Safe mode

Car has gone into safe mode twice in the past couple of weeks for no apparent reason after it did it i did the diagnostic check by plugging the two black cables together but nothing came up also tried the dynamic on as well (on the move) still no joy so reset the ecu and went grand for a week or so till yesterday when it did it again with again no joy on engine check car seems to be running fine and the only reason i know its in safe mode is it will only boost to bout half a bar intead of the usual .9 any ideas

Just had a look under the bonnet and there was a small slit in a small pipe coming off the turbo so ive cut off the split bit and hopefuly that will solve the prob
