Second CAR

Does this mean
I can have my Subaru Insured as is now,
Buy an avensis, and drive it or the Subaru and both cars are covered once just one of them is on the road
so in fact no insurance policy needed for the Avensis
This would be more tempting, all you need then is to tax the car,

Nearly right mate... Youl have to check with whoever your insured with tho...as above the avensis CANT be in your name, so stick in someone elses name ie girlfriend, parents, friend etc. then you should be laughin!

@Sweetcakes: Ya but that car needs to be insure also... Hence cost of second policy...!!!

The other car definitely doesnt need to be insured by anyone with the policy i have through axa.. Quinn is the same... Car only has to be in someone elses name... and obviously taxed and nct'd...

Regarding the insurance cover when its not yours, I debated doing this years ago, the policy states, drive what you like as long as its not yours and road legal.

The car itself is not insured and therefore not road legal... you can put whatever spin you like on it but if your lagged and they bother to check into it, you'll be fooked, the car is not insured, therefore not road legal, therefore your policy doesn't cover you.

If anyone has been in a smash in this situation, post it up and tell us what happened...

My cover on someone elses car is third party only... A lot of company's offer this option as well as TPFT and fully comprehensive, so tell me whats the difference if the owner has third party only or i have third party only?

cheers for the advise
Try to save a few pound and take it from there then
not sure what I will end up doing

well id say he had a trade policy, from what Dan said it doesnt matter though :dontknow: maybe he'll be along to enlighten us.
