Selling a car from the north?

P

Prodrive P1

Guest
Folks,

I'm thinking of selling up my pride and joy. I'm from Tyrone, so considering advertising it in the south, but its UK registered, so would I be wasting my time?

Is it too much hassle for people to import from the North to the South with all this VRT tax (stuff I dont understand)?

The car by the way is a P1 - so (fingers crossed) has appeal everywhere?

Any advice or views would be very much appreicated.

Thanks for reading.

should be fine, the vrt is huge on them anyway, whether there from up north or uk.
stick up a few pics of it.
if your breaking it...il have the rear spoiler and splitter..
no harm in asking

Hopefully wont have to resort to stripping her - like to keep the car standard. :)

I'll maybe consider adding to the For Sale section separately, but here is a pic anyway.

What do people do normally, import it first - then sell it, Or sell it and let the new buyer import it?

Thanks for the responses so far lads!

you just sell it to me for 5pounds and il take it off you, thats your part done.
you can keep the plate if its worth something to you and knock another 2pounds off the car so itl sell quicker.
il bring it down here and have to fork out "last time i checked on a 01 p1" 7 odd thousand euro to get irish plates.

so are you really selling it to me for 3 pounds :ponder:
love them yokes.

what year is she?

Thanks for the generous offer. But no. :)

She's 2001, and on 34000 miles. How is VRT calculated?

2001 Classic?

Beautiful car by the way. Wont be hard to sell that.

Lovely car but VRt is heavy on them
@ AndyC Lots of P1's and Classic wagons were Registered in 01. They were harder to shift than a Saloon and the P1's were a lot more expensive
Cheers

Thanks John. I thought all Classics (no matter what model) ended production in 2000. Ya learn something new.......

VRT is about 30% of the value of the car on the Irish market!

If theres anyone on here looking for a P1 you'll have now problem selling it! No problem bringing them in if you have the money!

If you're not in a major rush to sell it then if you had an address down south that you could use, you could register it for free, wait 6 months and then sell it at a big profit?? Pretty sure its 6 months anyway....??

any more photos of it?

At the end of the day if a car is in good nick then it'll get sold. Buying a P1 in the north or UK and VRT'ing is still a hell of a lot cheaper than buying something 'decent' down here.

VRT is a ba$tard alright.

Thats approx 13k sterling which is the VERY maximum you see them advertised for in the UK.

Granted yours is an 01 & very low mileage. Market has crashed on these though, what is the spec of yours to warrant that price?
