Ashling got her new car (04 impreza) last tuesday week, Everything was going fine but While she was at work yesterday she noticed oil around her car. She opened bonnet to find dipstick completely dry. :shock:
Threw some oil in, left work drove to my place and thats where disaster struck :(

There's a front mount intercooler on the car (came on it) not mapped :roll:
And we found that the pipe coming from the turbo had dropped at one of the joints and there was oil pi*#ing out.
We tightened up the pipe thinking that was all that was wrong, re-filled with oil...(took 3+3/4 litres :shock: :shock:)
And thought all was ok. :lol:
Rang garage this morning but no help, Rang a Subaru dealership and was advised to get rid of the car telling me that it was either a blown turbo or a piston ring :shock: :eek:mg:

On hearing about turbo took off the intercooler pipe that goes into the inlet manifold (the one furthest away from turbo) and found brown 'gunk' all over the pipes. found that it was turbo that was gone. :(

Rang garage again and they want the car brought up to them from Galway. Now in my opinion driving 100+miles on a blown turbo isn't great advice? :ponder:

The missus wants to get a full refund, they want to repair it. Dunno what to do :dunno:
 
WOW,Sorry to hear that mate,very unlikely that you get a refund after a week with a turbo car.Some places dont even give turbo cars a guarantee :wall:
Best case,they repair it to perfection and give you an extended guarantee :dunno:and pay for the car to be transported :thumbsup:

6 months warranty on engine and gear box. but i reckon she'd need a tmic, new turbo and then a full internal engine inspection and clean. its some serious sh#t thats in pipes. they'd never fork out that much :ponder:
 
there's a small bit of smoke on idle, but nothing to be alarmed about?
Maybe the seal isn't fully gone, but on the way.
Mechanic reckons that the cats are soaking up alot of the oil?
 
jeez, not the kind of thing you want happening after spending 21000. I hope you get it sorted.
 
You bought from a garage? engine warranty fro 6 months? of course you'll get you money back there consumer rights to protect you..
DO NOT drive it back to them park it up and get them to collect...I have the name of a brilliant solicitor he got my mate a full refund on his 1.8t passat after 4 months if it comes to that..ring them up asap do not listen to ther bullsh!t...get your money back..even if they dont give you a warranty you have 3 months as standard unless waved by the customer

1.Do Not Drive it Back

2.Either get a full repair, refund, or replacment .
that's the law .

3. If you want the exact details ring your local
citizens information center.

4. Dont take any bullshit :shoot:

bollix to that, consumer rights. selling faulty goods. id say she is sick as a parrot!
 
DROVE it back this morning they wouldn't send or pay for a recovery truck....
Under No circumstances would they give her a refund?
The car is left up there now and Ash has a replacement car. Dunno what to do there was no getting through to them?
There supposingly gonna check it out. i reckon there's a fair amount of damage done there was white smoke plummetting outta it :angry: :angry: :angry:

Even more than that she paid €23,000 :angry: :angry: w*nk*rs
 
No Jim because she was told on the phone yesterday that it was no problem to get her money back.
She told him we'd be there at 9AM this mornin, got there at 9.03AM to be told he would not be there till 10.30 at the latest.
11am came and we were told he wouldn't be in today FULL STOP so we had to deal with some other pri*k. His brother i think

keep at them for a full refund!threating them with solicitors!it might take a while but they will crack!
 
Brian get onto consumer rights and find out where you stand then youll be better equiped to fight them dont let them fook you about man :angry:
