this will be the first time attempting something this big on a car were something could go fatally wrong and i feel like i could do it myself with my bro he has a good mechanical noledge about him.
anybody have any tips or advice that might help me out.
i will be following a guide i found also
ill post pics in the what did you do to your car tomorrow when i get it done :subaru:

thanks.

you could do it yourself but if unsure get someone who knows man ,and dont attempt to do it if you dont have a good quality spring compressor

as above, the springs with the level of compression in them can be lethal when removing the top mounts. even with good spring compressors it still feels dodgey and i am always wary when doing it.

also when fitting the new springs, the positioning of them is vital in relation to the hats, if they are not sitting right, the damage you can could do to the car when driving it for the first time or turning the wheel is horrible to think of.

by all means, try it yourself, nothing better than doing work yourself on your car but if in doubt leave it to the experts and you can do the fun parts

''if in doubt, opt out'' - not a famous quote from a late rally driving legend

took me 4 hours to do the rear ones today, the rear top strut mount on a gc8 is a nightmare to get to :angry1:
doing front tomoro hopefully it wont be as hard thanks for all the help

Just be sure to mark the front camber bolts when doing the fronts. Its the upper bolt of the two bolts that lock the shock to the hub braket. Scribe them or use a tyre pen to mark it and make sure you put it back in the way it came out.
