I recently sold a Mines ecu for a v1 wrx, but my wife wrongly posted a simtec ecu i was waiting to get fitted by Mr Forrest, (Andy will have all our corespondance from the last few weeks), i contacted the buyer, he said he bought it to sell on & his buyer had been & collected it, he gave me a contact number which i phoned, the guy didn't want to return the ecu & wanted to speak to the guy i sold it to. I later got a text saying he refused to return it & got told to Fu*k off. The ecu was shipped to Ireland.
Could i ask if anyone sees this ecu for sale or is asked to map it please get in touch. Its a 4 plug simtec with serial number E1S96.0405
I have contacted as many suppliers & mappers of Simtec as i could find to keep an eye out for this ecu,(thanks for the replies chaps) . The ecu was posted to Nevery Co. Down.
Any chance i could ask the admin could sticky this post for a while.
Cheers
Mark

Attached is a picture of the ecu with serial number.

lets learn from this lads.

NEVER, NEVER, let your wife post something for you!!!!!!!!

sorry to hear lad but i dont think you can do anything about it, what the laws on this sort of thing?

Cheers lads already posted it up on ScoobyIreland.
ecu serial number is now flagged by those in the know,
so if you get offered it, :1poke:
its now worthless. & you will be wasting your money.

do you mind me asking

why is it worthless, can it not be mapped?
[/quote]

Apparently, the Simtek can only be accessed by the dealer you purchased it off unless you request otherwise.
All the mappers on 22B know about it now, so the new owner won't feel so smug when he realises he has just bought an expensive paperweight! :icon_lol:

Hopefully he will get in contact with the reseller again when he realises this, rather than try and sell it on.
Hope you get it back somehow!

Mapper needs serial to obtain license to re-map it!!! :dontknow:

If mapper is unsuspecting along with Simtek provider, then there should be no oprobs with him mapping it..

Maybe get onto Steve Simspon and have them flag it in Simtek themselves??

Cheers for the heads up bud, does appear to be my ecu from the pm's i have received from other users, on snet.
Knew it wouldn't be long before it turned up, & trying to be sold on to poor unsuspecting person who thinks there getting a bargain, 300euro/£390 which is way cheap. The lad(SubaruDude) has since disapeared off the face of the earth, & has not replied to any pm's sent to him.
