Savage machine alright, someone must really want one of them coz they're not gonna be on sale here for another year & Nissan won't have anything to do with any jap imports, hope the new owner has a good contact in Japan for sending any parts that are required.

did that pass u at about 7ish 2nite cause i passed 1 at that time on that road savage lookin motor

Was it the GT-R or teh new R35 skyline???
I've giving my skyline a hard auld life this past 3 years comprising of nearly 4000 Km of flat out arond mondello driving and she's never given out to me! The turbo started leaking oil from the compresor side, but considering that it's a 16 year old turbo that has been running 50% to much boost for 3 years, that isn't so bad!

New GTR is bigger than the old one...its a masterpiece IMO it can do 1/4 mile in 11 secs..thats SLR , Carrera GT pace....it destroyed a 911 turbo around the ring aswell...with the same power and an extra 150kg..not mad on the looks but its an amazing car by all accounts...it will be more like 150k here but with premiums..on the subject of nissans not being reliable...autotrader did a list of the most reliable car you can buy..taking into account repair costs and how often recall work-warranty work was carried out and customer surveys and it was the N15 almera..thats the 96-00 model..I had a VZr of that model and i gave it death 8250 rpm every where and she never missed a beat..when renault took over they got a lot worse but their back to form now.
All the s14,s15 silvias with big end failure are becasue lads give them a death donuts drifting etc where their bouncing the limiter continually..no turbo engine likes that

As Dagnut said, this is a serious car.

Evo magazine gave it a serious test this month.

Tested it against Corvette Z06 in 0-100-0 test which it won.

Then tested it around their track against Porsche 911 GT3 & it won.

And finally they tested it on Welsh B roads against their current favourite, the Audi R8 & said the Skyline was a better drive too.

@ b4heaven it was about 6.30 black one mad looking thing and a young guy driving it with no plates on it has to be the same car

yeah i seen it as it came through the light at palmerstown savage car

Its stunning especially in black.

The reason it's so quick, despite its heft, is its amazingly quick twin clutch VW style DSG gearbox which knocks 1/10 of a second off a manual gearbox every single time you change gears. If you think about how many times you'd have to change gears around the Nurburgring its easy to see how it pipped the Porsche GT3.

Porsche are developing their own twin clutch gearbox for the GTR RS and Audi are said to be developing their S Tronic DSG system for the forthcoming V10 R8 and when these cars hit the Nurburgring I'm afraid the Skyline's crown will have change hands yet again.

Overall though you'd have to say the Skyline is just about the perfect car. It's stunningly fast, great handling, great brakes, stunning to look at and built to the premium standards of Nissan's luxury Infinity brand.

I wonder is there any chance Nissan could lend their entire design department to Subaru for a few months. All the mechanicals are there already, all that's found wanting is someone with a good eye for design and some basic cop on.
