some assistance on buying

wrxed

Sunday Drivers
hey guys, i`m looking at another scooby and just wanted to check one or two things with you all. I`m looking at a 03 WRX blobeye. Its an Irish car(i think, due to the plates) and has 68,000m on the clock. It looks in good nick from the outside and in pretty good condition inside,no scuffs on front seats. The steering wheel looks quite worn which tells me that maybe it had been driven hard. Am I right in sayin that or is that normal for a scooby wheel? Its standard with just a dumpvalve added. Its from a Ford garage in offaly and I saw a members car outside the parts workshop and wondered if that person knows about it.It was a silver bugeye wagon, not sure about year.I`m close to buying it but wanted to check with the forum first Any help would be much appreciated.Cheers :subaru:

That would be wagon dec that works there.

Stick up your mobile number & maybe he'll oblige by ringing you. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be writing anything negative on here about a car his employer is selling

that car has been for sale for a few months i think.. remember seeing it when i was looking for mine almost 3months ago

Longer than that Aaron it was for sale when I bought mine in Janurary and I think I rem seeing it last Nov or early Dec aswell. Its been there a long time. I think there may have been a discussion on this site about the car before.

that was the wrx which one of the doors was a different shade of red to the rest of the car wasnt it and yeah thats normal wear and tear for a subaru steering wheel. i agree with the above it is alot of money for the car

As brian recommended mate, see if you csn get in touch with dec, and im sure he could give you the best run down on it. All the best with search man.

I think i`ll stay clear lads. I just had a bad feeling about when I saw it. Seemed abit sluggish aswell as if turbo was not up to full tilt. Thats why I love thisforum, you get great advice and have now saved me from buying a scooby for the second time. Hats off lads,A1 :subaru:

Yeah she was pulling to the left. I noticed that straight away, along with the slow spool up! Maybe it was just my imagination but my lex pulls alot quicker and it standard. No like!

Hi guys just wanted to post and say I work at this garage and yes the car had a power issue but that has been sorted I fitted a turbo and an uppipe as the cat in the uppipe had broken up and gone into the turbo also it blocked the uppipe and cause no spool up on the turbo this is now sorted and all thats wrong with the pull to left is tracking which can be an issue on any car and will be done when its serviced for the person who buys it this is not the heap that lads have said it is I drove the car for a few days and found it to be a tight car just said id clear up that thanks
