Some excellent rolling start drag races

The Gallardo with the legs on the lp640 was a surprise..the I looked at their ptw. 351bhp per tonne for the Gallardo and 382bhp per tonne for the Murc...so it must be the newer e gear technology keeping them close

Hi,

Rolling starts are an absolute waste of time IMO. Bit of an indication to cars grunt but drag racing comes down to both driver and car performance. With a rolling start driver just has to plant it and change gear - Any donkey can do that! Its getting it off the line is where the skill is involved.
Just when anyone mentions rolling starts to me it just boils my nuts!

But the purpose of this is to shows the CARS performance, not the drivers, so a rolling start is a much fairer way of judging that, also much easier on the car. This is not drag racing.

I had started looking into a 30 to 130 (mph) like the MLR,
Was trying to find a venue, but a few airfields said they wouldn't be up for it!
I'd love for something like that to start in Ireland!

As Dagnut says, It's not drag racing, best car wins, unless you screw up a gear change!

When you have your work done Dan try to get an invite to Vmax in the UK. Speak to Johnboy(siteowner/mod) on driver.ie he can get you an invite

I reckon I'll need another engine in the boot to counter the aerodynamics of a brick!
I do like drag racing, but I cringe every time I launch, waiting for some thing to go bang,
