SOMEBODY MUST KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS?

I have this button in the B4.
I think its a yoke for automatically spraying water onto either the turbos or the intercooler when they get a bit hot.
I think its working because i have seen water dripping after a run...

The questions are

1. which is it turbo or intercooler?
2. where do i put the water - i cant find anywhere specifically for it under the hood?
3. maybe it just goes into the washer bottle?

i've done a fair few miles (like 4000miles) since i got her and never put water anywhere? except the washer bottle?
i havent seen anything under the seat in the boot - i'll have a look, though i would thonk it'd be under the hood
 
water spray be jets on your inner vent.

very few legacys with that..

water on ground could just be from air con.
 
i'm stunned..
what - nobody else has this button?

i can't recall water spray on standard B4 from memory to be very honest.......

just in ones i've come across.............

as said check inner vent for jets...

if none then maybe switch doesn't belong in car if you get me.......
 
someone may have intended to custom fit water spray into the car and only got as far as the switch...


do you hear a motor when you press button?
 
no, i dont hear a motor but its an "auto" button, which i thought would mean it would spray the water only when it was needed?
I'll check for jets tomorrow and report baack-- too dark now - no torch here

i have two blanks in my car where that switch is, i reckon its taken from an imprezza as the original might have gone missing, the easiest way is to take that section of dash out and see if its connected to anything. i do know that my blanks switches are connected to wiring, just for the purpose of keepin the wiring in place. i think those buttons are for heated seats or something like that.ive not seen a b4 with ic spray but its givin me ideas :ponder:
 
just found a torch and went to have a look...this has been annoyn me
could nt see any jets for the inter cooler-will look again in daylight

yes that was my opinion......


so we are assuming this switch was just put in by someone considering a possible custom water spray install or just to look good.....


does it light orange when pressed???
 
no light in it - not like the foglight buuton for exaample
is it not weird to put in a button that doesnt do anything?
 
ok will have a root around tomorrow in the light.
despite my eariler cofidence the uk legacy guys didnt have much to say on this ...
