So the tuner and ipod function on my radio stopped a while back and I wasnt sure what it was, got a mate to come over tonight and his radio works fine in my car, my tuner still doesnt work in his, so radio is w*nked!
Im looking for a single din sony radio and the face has to light up blue! Ifanyone has one for sale or a link to a decent one online I would appreciate it, otherwise im halfords bound!!!

I think its the radio colm, I never changed the settings and the cd player is working perfectly, it wont even stop on a channel when I hit scan and not getting the noise inbetween stations, its totally silent on tuner mode.
Cant make cars and coffe tomorrow as she is working so wont get both kids up and ready in time on my day of rest!!! Appreciate the offer though.

Tuner could be fooked so
But maybe the wire on the back
is the aerial a wire coming out of the back of the head unit maybe that is damaged if it is
Some radios I have had don't make a sound when there is no antenna connected so that mightn't be a symptom
Google the model number maybe see if it is a common fault :thumbsup:
 
I tried his aerial connecter in mine and vice versa, tuner in headunit fooked alright!! Prob just as easy to get New radio, presume these are uneconomic to repair? Its a decent radio I have at the minute!

Always thought the sony head units where very good quality for the price
 
100% Colm... Sony makes great ones alright.

Have an older one... about 10 years old now, had it in 3 different cars... and still going strong.
Great features, good sound (typically much better than oem units) and good value too.
 
I have a Sony cdx 5600 ui I think it is. Got it last year for my previous car. Only used for a week. 50e and it's yours if you're interested
 
I went and bought a new one yesterday in halfords, appreciate the offer though kbox, karma enroute,
stuck the new one in and couldnt get sound working! Slightly different harness and Ill have to have another look at it, radio is recognising and stopping on stations though so not all bad!
