well lads ive just gone and bought meself an evo 4 rs, id looked around at a good few scoobies to buy one again but ive always loved the evo 4s, she an absolute mint car its a 1997 model with only 43000 miles on the clock its a completely standard car and its fully documented right back to the purchase date on the 16th of march 97 right up to date il get a few pics up (thats if ye let me) shes an absolute cracker sorry to break the news,

I suppose it's a respectable enough car!!
I suppose!
Why not a V4 type r??
I'd be very interested to hear your comparisons!
Happy motoring!
Dan

ah no harm murt..you'll miss the rumble and you'll be back .. I have a thing for evos aswel I must admit.. I like the 5 and the tommi mak in red even though I was looking for a 7 for a year and couldn't get a clean enough one so I drove an sti and the rest as they say is history . I got hooked

cheers dan, as said above ive always had a soft spot for the evo 4, i havent even put 40 miles on the car yet and im putting an uprated clutch into her so when that gets done and i put a few miles on her and get the feel for it id be more than happy to do a comparison on the cars, like i went out and looked at loads of scoobies, especially sti wagons cause i just love them i wlways regreted selling my old sti wagon to paul funny club that broke me heart and i wanted to get back into one badly, but the evo popped up just at the right time i suppose, i got a whole lot of car for very small money, it even has a brand new set of compomotive wheels and brand new tyres and taxed for the year, to be honest the cars is in such good condition and so well looked after and its so original and untouched i bet you there would be a high percentage of people on this site that would not have refused it, ill get a few snaps up as soon as i can, youll be pleasantly surprised

cheers murt

Yeah... quite a few of them suffer from crankwalk... the only surefire cure is to get rid of the EVO 4 block. However, being low mileage, you hopefully should be good for a while yet.

Since the start of the year, we've replaced 3 separate EVO 4 blocks with EVO 7/8 bottom ends.

Nearly bought a evo myself...check for crankwalk on the 4 its a known issue

i know, hope fully that night mare wont come true for me

cheers

well lads i havent even got to open the taps on her properlly yet, but quoting nick from couture there the low mileage aspect of the car is my saving grace, and was the main reason why i did go for it, so fingers crossed, and gerry theres nothin surer that i,ll end back up in a scoobie

Feck it
If it goes, as Nick says, A great excuse for Evo7/8 motor,
Or 2.3 stroker kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All good
Dan
