Speed camera Vans in Dublin

i think its a pic of the front reg plate with the drivers face visible. They do it that way to show in court if someone denies they were driving the car when the offence is detected

I have seen the palin vans out and about but I thought they were all to be visalbe? Surely and unmarked van parked on the side of the road has to be somewhat illegal, if you know what I mean?
Cheers
John

PS they're just cnuts

An unmarked van with a bright flashing strobe light flashing out it's rear window could be very dangerous at night time as it distracts a drivers concentration from the road. :naughty:

@stasil55 - Are you insured with your Irish License or Russian license?

if they look like the go safe vans with the big camera on the roof and they have no stickers on them then its a surveying van, they have to prove that the area needs a speed van. there range is huge, if you can see it your done basically

When the unmarked survey vans snap you, do you still get the fine & points? Or is it only if it's a GATSO or a GoSafe van that's marked, you'll get the fine & points?

the guards ones were plain white, ul know when mr postman drops off a letter

They also had a green renault traffic(think that what it was) that has no markings :naughty:

Thought the rang was 800m

:smokin:

The white van was parked up on the Nass road there today. It was part in front a road gang doing going bout the work with tractors ect. Sneaky little sh*t.

I've seen 5 vans inside spectra photo in sandyford ind estate
I reckon that's where they send the film and refill.

The place is closed all the time,so a van pulls up and the shutter opens and the
Van drives in,shutter goes back down.

So next Halloween if your bored.............

It's a bit shite tbh becasue they can stick them where they're doing the roadworks on the M1 and everything. Due to the works the speed limit is dropped to 60 in some places and you'll be done if they have a van there and you're going any faster.

The state the feckin' road is in aswell due to them rippin' up the markings that were down for the hard shoulder and cats-eyes. If you're on the inside lane it just shreds your tyres to bits, even at 60kmh. You've no choice but to move in to the outside lane.

Look out carefully in works areas
If there is 1 uncovered permanent speed limit sign, that automatically voids the temp speed limit signage!
N7 south bound at the esso station has the 100 kmh signs visible therefore the temp speed limit isn't enforceable!!!

I got stopped there the other day by a know it all Garda sgt. He threatened all sorts till he realised I was more educated than he expected and he ended up apologising

I got done by one at night time back in july the flash completely blinded me for a good 5-10 seconds i didnt know what it was at the time but had anything been coming the other way i could very easily have had an accident

Got my letter today with 63km/h in 50km/h zone. 2 points and E80 :angry1:

its only a small black and white pic of a front reg plate. no driver or car pics.

so watch out for any vans parked up on the side of roads!

Nearly got nabbed tonight on the way home! Those reflective stickers aren't very reflective at all are they!

the company is owned by a lad called xavior mccalliffe, he owns the lyrath estate hotel in kk where i work, he started spectra labs years ago and hes usin there camera technology in the speed vans as he owns them too!

there range is massive, they should all have reflective stickers but some dont, though were told the ones that are just white are survay vans but some arent, the reflective stickers are not one bit reflective at all!!!

most of the vans are ky reg as the company is based there but he has some are different reg's, and there all different colours!
