hey lads just a quick 1,before christmas a lad ran into the back of me and ruined the centre section of my 5zigen exhaust, the back box is fairly ok bar 1 or 2 pinholes and 1 little split,i hav a centre section ordered ,but at the moment i dont have the mula to buy a new back box,so does any1 know of somewhere or some1 that has a stainless steel welder that i could get it repaired. :653: :subaru:

an ordinary welder would do the job just use a stainless steel welding rod :thumbs up:

all depends how light the steel is , stainless rod will work but heat must be way down, the beauty with the tig is u have control of the weld with the torch. where u based

wud b easy job for lad wit mig welder but can b done wit ordinary welder as other lads said as long as u can lower the power on welder. I know a man who does tat work im in cavan here if tat any good 2 u or if u want cwrx in navan he cud pass it on 2 me it just a suggestion :ponder2: :ponder2:

u can no prob coil of stainless wire and change the mig gas and off u go. loads of splatter but dose the job

I would only use tig and i start welding mig and tig 20 yrs ago, maybe im wrong but we always tig stainless all our welding had to be class 'A' finish though.

ya tig is best for finish if u look at any exhaust system the tail pipe is tig welded where seen and rest mig, as i worked in catering it was all tig , and when heavy work was done like milk tankers mig was used unless it was to the tank where it was tig and purged inside, as above stainless can be welded 3 ways but like u say tig best

ok sure mite try that crowd over beside merlin.thanks lads :subaru:
