Standard 97 STI engine?

Anybody able to tell me if this is an original 97 STI engine?
Last owner told me there is definatly a 06 STI 2.5 turbo on it, but not sure If the engine itself is the original

thers is codes on the turbo. your looking for vf??.

And regards engine no way of telling from a picture if its the original engine

Thanks dave, im not well up on subarus.
I taught there would be a few small difference between say a uk wrx engine, newer 2.5, ect

from a picture cant tell if its a 2.5.

heads are v3/4 heads by looks of plain smooth rocker covers. Hards tell anything else
