ok this is going to be hard to describe, for the last few weeks when i go out to my car first thing in the morning or last thing at night if i havnt moved it in hours, i get in , start it up and the wheel wont turn right, it WILL turn left no bother, i hold it right for a few seconds and then pop all of a sudden it turns right as if nothing ever happened, and i can drive it then as per normal,

im no mechanic but i reckoned it may be low sterring fluid level or something which meant it was taking it time to turn the wheel right,

i popped the hood but level seems fine,

now next part i also have started to notice a kind of metalicy scraping sound if im turning right on slow full lock right turns , wud this be the same issue or do i have a bearing or something gone also ???

Air in the power steering system can cause all sorts of problems but never heard of that one :ponder:

Try bleed the power steering pump by: Starting the engine, Remove the fluid reservoir cap, then slowly turn the steering left and right a good few times, Knock of the engine and check your fluid level again, top up if needed.

If this doesn't solve your problem it could be a fault with the rack but again never heard of this sort of problem before

I've this problem as well. I get a squek when i turn the wheel to the right. Tonight i sounded like metal scraping. I checked everything and it seems ok. Head is wrecked now

are u getting the same symptoms as me on start up too ?

No its only when i'm driving and slowing down but i got the scraping while reversing this evening
