STI insurance / jap import if under 30

Hi guys,

Long time since posting up here and hope all are well for those who I know!

Looking to get back into a scooby and the car I want is a jap import. Still in Japan but insurance company (I'm with liberty) won't insure me till I'm 30, am 29 now.

I am under pressure to get a deposit over for the car but need to be able to insure it before I can pay this.

Which companies are out there at the minute that will help me out at all? Have tried 123.ie but they won't insure jap imports either.

Please help as I said, I'm under pressure to be able to get this car and don't want to miss the chance.

Not back just yet but hoping to be!! As said, I'm in a rush to get this so will try them tomorrow
 
Just tell them its sitting outside and they'll usually transfer it thats what I did im 29 with liberty as well

yep do that, ring them tomorrow in the morning, tell them you have bought the car and you want to transfer your insurance from midday and then wait for the bad news, at least you will know where you stand then and if its too crazy just back out!

im with axa through the AA who i found cheapest , and dont forget to insure her for a discount , as they seem to think she'll be driving it sometimes
 
Lad can you post up a link of the company your using to import it? I'm looking for a coupe myself and I've thought of getting one from Japan but don't have a clue how to go about it..I would be a bit nervous to do it In case the car didn't arrive.if you can stick up a link it would be great..thanks.

dont have a clue myself, just going with the flow really. using titan autoworks, have heard of people getting stuf brought in by them before so hoping all goes well.

Rang a broker in drogheda today and seems Aviva is going to cover me for 550 quid with herself on it also fully comp! thought that was a very sweet offer!
 
Yeah that's it man, was well chuffed with this! So went and put the deposit down today so on my way to having an STI!!!! Whoop whoop!

Insurance at 550 was super cheap for under 30 years so it wasn't an impreza plus I did see a gorgeous import forester Sti for sale not long ago!
