It was in the boot of my version 3 but im not 100% sure im sure when pics are someone will know.

Does anyone know why is it flaking so often like?

The paint has almost completely gone on mine.

I said its to do with the temperature under the bonnet,

id say temp as well constant heating and cooling is going to expand and contract the metal and paint isnt as flexible

poor paint or poor preperation. Good heat resistant paint and good preperation will last forever and not flake like these do. Or even better, get it powder coated

The manifold pictured is off a V5/V6 Sti as the V1 to V4 had a seperate space for the ICV
