sti type r or p1. blob eye sti or v limited wanted

That car in Mayo was on DD a couple of weeks ago advertised @ €5,750. Whats the new owner looking for it?

Wasn't mint. Few little dents. Nothing serious jus there was one on every panel like. Amid looked at it in the wet too so I'd say you could find more when it dry. Power steering was whining. But that didn't really bother me. He had no proof of timing belt bein done. And when we took it for a spin. Car was sperfect dead straight and pulled like a train. Jus when you were driving it hard the check engine light used to flash for a second? Maybe it's something to do with bein mapped. I don't know. He reckons it's always like that. I know there little bits. Was a lovely car but I'm just fussy.

The youngest classic Impreza of any kind is almost 15 years old now it's gonna be next to impossible to get a perfect one

True enough but like I said im fussy. There making a lot a money and its a lot of money to leave behind when your not 90 per cent happy wit a car

You won't find the type r you're looking for advertised for sale in Ireland, best going to Japan if you want a mint one and you could possibly find a grade 4.5. Would be mad money though. Here you'll find that 90% have had their passenger side rear quarters repaired and most of them badly

P1's maybe not quite as abused but P1impreza might be able to point you in the right direction.

Haha mad money is right. why would you say they have been quartered ? Im not totally for a type r or p 1 I'd buy a nice blob if I could get one in my price range .

Because I was doing the same search 3 years ago, spent 8 months looking and then went a bought a blob spec c instead. If it wasn't quartered (which I can't actually remember a car that wasn't), it was heavy hit in the front. At the time, a mate told me he had done the same search 4 years prior to me and couldn't find one either, and the general state of them isn't improving generally. Thats not to say you wont be lucky and find a unicorn but if you do, the seller would want to be off the rocker if the were selling it for reasonable money.

Bring a paint gauge with you when you go view them and check the quarters first, pull out the trim form inside the boot and look down the seam for rust because after they've been hit once, unless they are repaired 100%, they can get rusty fierce quick. On the front, check it the wings have been painted,99% of the time, the bit around the bolts which would effectively be inside the engine bay will be body coloured which it shouldnt be.

I would search concurrently and if a mint blob STi comes up, then jump on it would be my advice.

Just be patient and don't buy the first half decent yoke just because it's there . Plenty of really nice cars out there .It's just waiting for the right on to come up

Agave you Tryed hurst cars in England, do have good motors there

Or buy the cheapest type r you can find, even one with the engine gone and restore it from the ground up, these cars are going to be like mk 1/2 escorts, integrates etc, there only going to go up in value by the thousands
