Merry Xmas everyone and a Happy New Year. I have a smell coming into cab and cant figure out what it is now I only got it around engine bay after long spin but its starting to come into cab now, its not petrol but Im wondering if it could be sound deading material on underside of bonnet as I found a big piece on engine cover after drive to Dublin it looks like its breaking off from middle of foam piece. Any ideas thanks.

its in the passnger footwell near the back of the radio. its gets cloged up and starts to smell if the heater is on hot and not changed every second service . worth a look john

or coolant leak, look around for any signs of dried coolant check levels etc
Does it smell like oil burning, I have a similar thing when I am parked I get a smell like oil droppin onto somethin hot comin in thru the vents. It is only every now and then and hard drivin or slow driving made no difference. I had look today and seen a mark where a drop of oil from the rocker cover on drivers side was leaking slowly and evaporating off the hot exhaust. I havent fixed it yet so cant confirm. I was worried it was the turbo on the way out and oil was gettin thru into the exhaust.Fingers crossed.

check around all the cooolant and rad lines so you may have a leak on one of the connections or split end tank, make sure you check your rad for cooolant and your header tank as well and the main rad hoses. any steam smoke coming off when you stop in traffic?

What screen wash do you use? I had a manky smell in my bugeye and it was the screen wash I was using. Holts. It went all eggy inside the washer tank and the smell came through into the cabin of the car. Smelt like a dead rat it was that bad. Once the washer bottle was emptied and washed out it was nice and fresh again.
