Subaru has pulled the sheet off of a rugged close-to-production concept called Crossover 7 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

As its name clearly implies, the Crossover 7 is a seven-seater crossover that previews what the successor to the outgoing Tribeca could look like. Stretching 188 inches long, 74 inches wide and 67 inches high, the concept ditches the Tribeca's tall silhouette in favor of a sleeker, more Outback-like design while adopting a crisp front end inspired by Subaru's current design language.

Interior pictures are not available but Subaru says the crossover features a roomy cockpit with three rows of leather-upholstered seats. It is fitted with Subaru's acclaimed EyeSight technology and a touch screen-based infotainment system.

The Crossover 7 is powered by a 2.5-liter flat-four engine that sends power to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and the latest evolution of Subaru's all-wheel drive system. Fuel economy and performance figures will be published at a later date.

Subaru recently hinted the Tribeca's replacement would arrive in 2016, giving us an accurate idea of when to expect the production version of the Crossover 7 in showrooms. A full set of details about the concept will emerge in the coming days.

I'd like it only for the height of the roof, those side windows look massive.
It might blend in stateside though

needs big wheels to look good but it would kill the ride
7 seater market is a great move for them all the same
hard to find something in a estate shaped style with 7 decnet seats so might move units
reminds me of a small merg gl from the rear side profile
i think the levorg will be the big seller going forward
It looks very well
