Subaru Ireland drop all Impreza petrol engines from Impreza line up!

FRAWLS

Middle Lane Hogs
Just read the above today and went on to Subaru Ireland's website and it's true, the only new Impreza available in Ireland now is the diesel model. So much for the Impreza STI's rally heritage :icon_rolleyes:

I don't think anyone would want to pay 2k tax on any of the turbo models anyway.......

Thats bad news alright.
Scumbag government anyway putting the tax upto 2k. :angry1:

wont stop mitsubishi pushing out petrol engines!!!!
:wall: :wall:

They might have them for sale but will they sell??

Honda have pulled the S2000 and Civic type-r for the same reason.

Robbing scum bags in government, Other countries charge tax based on Co2 but they're not extortionists. Co2 emissions are 10 times worse from trucks/buses and planes but we have to suffer :wall: :wall:

If supply has stopped then it should help the second hand value of our cars!

Collectors items of the future.

thats the optomist view if i ever heard it, but a valid point!

not really!!!
you can just go up north or to uk coz bet there not gonna drop the petrol engines there!!!!
:ponder2: :ponder2:

why would they sell petrol version of the sti to ireland, 2k for tax, there right and plus the fact id say subaru ireland have sold fu*k all sti in the last 5 years, id say 90% of the cars in this club are jap yokes, so subaru ireland havent made fu*k all off us

Subaru might sell more cars if the were lower emission, thus lower road tax.

I'm sure the technology is there but don't because its too expensive

i'm not surprised how can afford a petrol these days? i'm not willing to pay 2k tax!!! it breaks my heart everytime i have to renew the tax the way it is at the mom!!! wouldn't mind it so much if the roads would be perfect but the state of the roads is just a disgrace. where is all the tax money going too?

as duffman already said loads of cars here are imports. so subaru ireland wouldnt make much if anything on selling imprezas other than (maybe) the diesel.

i'd go for the diesel one myself if i'd go for a brand new impreza - wont happen though cause i cant stand the new shape

Dealer in Balllinrobe told me all unsold petrol models being shipped to England from Ireland - They are relying on the diesel models to sell as ye already said the emissions tax is the problem
