yea thats true , i was onto dave at sti tuning and he said anywhere up to 2500 because a new ecu and all that , there meant to be very hard to do, so you reckon id be better off in the long run then??

If you dont ring its neck it should be ok,it a 1997 so has it been in ireland for a while?,if hasnt gone bang yet no reason why it would for you.
 
very hard to map the rs just so you know will need a hks f con which aren't easy to come by
 
Was the FUEL in Japan around 98 octane back in them days? Think i heard that somewhere? i stand to be corrected though!

If your plannin big mods, defo get a remap. But there are a fair few leggys on here which aren't mapped (including mine). I've had mine over a year now and its sweet as a nut :)

Just run it on E5 with booster, don't ring its neck and it won't ring yours!

your right 100 octane didnt come until 98 so any <98 cars would be fine on e5
 
grand thanks for the advice lads id prefer to get it mapped but i dont tink ill be keeping her that long to make it worth my while , what octane booster would be the best one to get ??
 
pm akki he will be able to give ya some help....he has my old BD5 RS.... :thumbsup: and he has a lot of homework done on that model :geek:
 
Contact Davelegacy or Renno off this site. They are both traders and stock the best of boosters. Either Lucas or NA :thumbsup:
 
Nice car man, love white leggy's...

If you run it on E5 then there is no need for octane booster or a remap because as the lads said, yours is only mapped for 98 octane...
