How's it going subaru noob here.

I picked this up last week. I had been planning on getting a MKV gti but there was nothing decent available in my price range the this popped up. It is a fairly standard car has sti backbox, tein coilovers, tein front strut brace, hks turbo timer and hks ssqv.

The car is decent nick with only 130k kms and appears to have been well looked after theres a lot of main dealer sevice history with it. It had a lot of work done by RSR a couple of months ago, new clutch, full service, crankshaft oil seals, dimpled disks all round.

Plans are to get an sti front splitter, sti wind deflectors and get rid of the mud flaps on it as they are rubbing alot and wrecking my head.

Cheers for all the welcomes lads, I feel at home already :afro:

I must say I'm chuffed with the car this is my first turbo car and my first 4wd and I'm very impressed by both. I've upgraded from a T-sport corolla to this and the difference is night and day the impreza is obviously a lot more tight on the road and gives you a bit more confidence to push on compared to the corolla. The power delivery from the impreza is also completely different to the corolla.

What kind of basic mods would be best to get a few more ponies out of the car?

Looks well.

Good panel filter, walbro fuel pump, good cat back exhaust and then re-map it.
Should unleash it a bit more.

After that you could do anything....
Injectors,de-cat, front mount inter cooler, boost solenoid, fuel pressure reg.....

Handling is always a good one too and decent brakes when on standard power.... Carry more speed through the corners :)

It's endless really!! :)

Best advice I will give you is proper tyres and not just good thread but good brand and good brakes . As for power you could go decat and panpel filter but would require a map

I found a decat is a nice cheap upgrade and sounds well. Boost controller (dont over boost, they dont like that) and a fmic is a nice job too

I just found a ebc handy. My wrx started over boosting with the few bits in it so I got a controller and lowered boost.

There's no boost gauge in the car so I'm not sure. I think it's running standard enough well according to the previous owner it is.

Does anyone know where I'd find a set of the jdm rainguards? I seen them on that white bugeye you have for sale on donedeal Dave?
