Subaru WRX STI vs. Audi S3 in compact AWD dustup

The sti puts a good fight considering it's basically a 10 year old car and is slower than the outgoing model. Crazy how many models Audi do now A1, A3 hatch,fastback , saloon, a4, A5, a6, a7 , a8 , q3, q5, q7, tt, r8...probably missed a few...

Audi would be boring as feck to drive on the twistys compared to the sti
Like all recent fast audi (except r8) expect lots of understeer plus it's far more expensive
No doubt a better car the Audi but the subaru would be more exciting

From a performance point of view Subaru have stood still with the last few sti's. When the S3 came out first not a hope in hell would it do that to an sti.

Subaru's performance may be steady for years but they're handling is any manufacture dream!
I've driven all the performance high powered VAG stuff and they don't hold a candle to a Subaru's cornering ability. Wet or dry.

Straight line power they are very quick.
Twisty stuff pushing on....... A sorted factory sti would leave it struggling.
Quattro is muck to me from lots of experience driving them.

Asymmetric 4wd for me 24/7.

Completely agree, the haldex system is basically FWD without the steering feel of the new well sorted FWD's
