I had a dccd conversion done alright, only thing i needed to run it was the aftermarket controller from DCCDPro or similar but I decided to sell the car before I got the controller.
The front end at the gearbox is pretty straight forward. From the top, you will need:
Starter
Clutch
Flywheel
Gearbox
Gear linkage
The linkage will need to be modified in order to sit in the 'stock' location.
Mine was a manual so i needed to shorten the front half of the prop by 82mm (from memory). You have the auto so your prop is already a bit shorter as the auto box is longer. Its possible that it is the same lenght as the 6 speed but I couldn't confirm either way.
You have 2 options at the rear, either get a rear R160 diff with drop gear to match the 6 speed box, in which case its a straight swap and you're done or else go the way i went and go for an R180 that takes the fatter shafts... This is a regret of mine although the outcome was much better handling, but the hassle and cost was too much. I just kept thinking, if I'm gonna do, I'll do it right and fit the R180 but if i went back tomorrow, I'd fit the R160.
To fit the R180, you will need to modify the diff carrier and get custom made half shafts to mate the fatter shafts to the narrower hubs. Nothing off the impreza fits, not the whole rear beam, not the hubs, such a nightmare...
Not sure whats involved electrically in changing from auto to manual, but you will obviously need new clocks
Whatever you do, get a dccd 6 speed regardles of whether you plan to use the dccd or not. The non-dccd boxes are weak and prone to failure, as I found out on my first attempt.
Boxes up to 2005 are a straight fit using existing front drive shafts, but widetrack boxes from 2005 on need either a set of nubs to be inserted in the gearbox to fit your shafts or you will need the front drives from the same car as the box.
Ciaran in ASD Automotive did mine and to be honest, he's the only person I'd use if you were going to do it. His attention to detail is second to none and you are guaranteed to get the car back, running right first time.
Hope thats of some help, its all i can think of for the moment
