2001 - Subaru - IMPREZA WRX STI "WRX STI, C Spec, RA, Rally"

Comments: This model Impreza WRX STI was produced from September 2001 to October 2002. The new sold prices ranged from 2,720,000 JPY to 3,150,000 JPY for the WRX Pro-Drive Style. Models produced were the WRX 4WD, WRX Type RA Spec C 16 Inch Alloys, WRX Type RA Spec C 17 Inch Alloys, WRX Pro-Drive Style, WRX Limited and the WRX S202 STI Version. The factory rated horsepower ranged from 280 BHP to 320 BHP In 2000, the Impreza line received a complete update. The chassis was stiffened so that it had 120% torsion stiffness increase. The WRX STi gained 17" x 7.5" alloy wheels over the previous 16" x 7" wheels. The 5 speed semi-automatic transmission (reputed to be one of the car's weak points) was changed to an STi engineered 6 speed manual transmission. The engine was retained from the Version 6 STi and still retains the semi-closed deck block and is still labeled as the EJ207. However, the turbochargers are IHI models. The interior was updated with a STi logo on the gauge. The STi's gauge also has a red shift light. The STi's and optioned Type RA STi have received Brembo 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brakes while the bare-bones Type RA STi still carried the Subaru 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brakes. Externally, the STis had larger hoodscoops and had foglight covers with STi embossed on them. The DCCD was updated so it can work with anti-lock brakes. During braking, when the ABS is on, the DCCD will set itself to open-mode (no locking).

The RA has a closer ratio gear box. Lighter Glass. Lighter Bonnet roof and Boot and came with DCCD. There's one for sale in Jap cars. They have her advertise in Car zone.

They have the Prodrive style front bump but with Spot lights incoparates in to the rap around Covers. The have the Prodrive style grill to. Hatch in the roof and High rise STi spoiler that was only available on the Prodrive style and RA Sti of the year.

Hope this adds to the above passage.
