The price of performance parts!

Would i be mental to spend 800-100 on a sports cat down pipe and about 700-800 on an uprated TMIC, both off the shelf aftermarket parts. Seems like a lot of hassle trying to get DP only made up anywhere locally so only options are HKS/Zerosports or AVO, all coming form Japan,

Other option is to get a cast AVO bellmouth and get a pipe fabricated up to match, still going to cost about 500+ for that option(decat pipe)

Or else do the cheap thing and gut stock downpipe.

Sports cat seems like the easiest option as far as NCT and that is concerned, but is it worth the money for about 10 extra bhp!

sure you could pick up a H+S full decat for 200-300 , just that comes with the hassle of having to put back in the original cat for the test every 2 years ....

Why not just change over to an impreza twin scroll setup? Much more parts available and you'd probably do it for less than the prices above...

If only they made one for Legacy!

@ sweetcakes, this has been in the back of my head too for ages, would need to get the vf36 turbo, downpipe, up pipe and headers and various other brackets and turbo's Turbo would cost well over a grand i think unless there was a 2nd hand kit for sale somewhere.

Anyone know the standard output of a impreza with vf36? i think its the standard turbo on the spec C's

dan your not going to gain anything from the topmount so it would be pointless paying that money for one.

the decat/sportcat is not going to give you much extra power without a remap so in my eyes 1300-1500 euro for pipe and map for an extra 20 bhp is not worth it.

is your car mapped already?

vf35 pushes out about 330-350 bhp so vf36 shouldbe around 350 but you wouldnt want to run that much boost on a standard block without starting to save for a forged unit

i think i want to try and get the most out of the car with standard turbo in it, dont want to be goin mad with it! Ive already put enough money into it, just nice to maximise the potential of the current turbo setup and have it as backwards compatible as possible. downpipe, TMIC and intake and larger injectors, should see if good for about 320ish

yeah prices for tuning a b4 are like twice the price for an impreza. i owned a b4 for about 5 years and its a money pit
