Right-so far it would sem that 380 or so is a lot more achieveable-and would take an expensive ppg box out of the equation

Plus smaller turbo and the standard ej25 will take that

you could go down this route

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1004554.htm

and then get vrt for =3000

turbo gt30 =2000
fmic =500
map simtek with anti lag and launch =1500
gear box ppg =4000
fitting/few small bits =2000

comes to about 20000 euro roughly but you will have 450/450 car

That first car is an absolute beaut and monster, :thumbsup:
I aint much help on big power mods, but price range, after selling your car you can take it that will be in and around the ammount you will have for a type R, So with 8 grand or so spending, you could do an awfull lot, Even as dan says some second hand parts could save a fortune :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

20000 is not a reasonable budget for what wont be worth much more than a standard car when built

power = money

and if you buy a car today, and do work on it tomorrow, it will be worth less the next day.

ask mike spec c how much he spend building his type r with 380 brake and he'll tell you it was a good bit more than 20 grand.

but as niall put it "make the most of someone else having already spent the cash" it will be alot cheaper

I dont see how a 380bhp build could cost over 20k these days-I see Ali Burrows is building closed deck short motors with forged internals for 2450 or therabouts-would be a good starting point.

Im talking buying a car with a blown engine,and basically throwing that engine away-then working from there
