Thinking about a Forester?

03/04 are 2.0. Later ones are 2.5. Plenty of poke and fun enough to drive. Same running costs or thereabouts as a UK WRX.. But possibly even more bulletproof as they've milder cams and lower state of tune. Quite nice to drive... Yet still great handling cars even with the increased height over an impreza.

I'd my dads 04 XT for a few days and getting back into my own Impreza felt very harsh afterwards. You'd easily live with one Robbie... And if your doing a lot of motorway driving and don't floor it all the time you'll see 32mpg all day long.

Ps- I could sort a test drive in my dads if you like... It's conpletely standard so it would give you a good idea of what they're like.

I don't think I would be buying one with it doing 30+mpg as a deciding factor..
I would think 25mpg would be as good as you will get, sure you might get 30 or 32mpg if you limp it around to try get the mpg but that's not much of a life to have, crawling around so you will get the mpg..

If mpg is in any way in your head at all then I think you may look elsewhere other than Subaru, if you do get another Subaru I think you will find you have too cars to now pour money into instead of one.

@stel94 do I remember you selling a foz?

@keith No-go on the outback, the woman is averse to estate cars, or hearses as she call them :facepalm that's where the foz come in as it's more SUV and has all the space.

@jamie thanks man, might do alright. Sound for the advice

@ken mpg is not really a factor hence why I was thinking about one in the first place but you are right, if they can do 30mpg it means roughly 25 or 20mpg for me  I'm actually thinking of one for practicality and enjoyment, plus awd through the winter
