thinking about a legacy

Not bad, brembos all round. I like the leather interior although the wood effect trim looks cack, id be swapping that out r wrapping it like altezza dan has done. Theres an 03 B4 for sale on donedeal, cant vouch for the car but much cheaper than tryin to import that yoke, your looking at a few grand vrt on top of that price not to mention shipping. Up to you tho man, your money!

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1471877

there was a white one too but seems to be gone
Yeah the wood doesn`t do anything for it. Yeah importing it would probably be too much but was just using the picture as a reference. You`ve got one yourself i see,in white aswell, nice. How does it run for you? What sort of mileage do you get out of it?

Think that has the Tommy kaira or K2 body kit on it, Pity about all the wood effect trim on the interior and the fact that its an auto. They are only 260bhp as well compared to the 276bhp of the manual.

both models though a very different, i think the 99-03 has more poke top end, but the low end torque of the 03+ twinscroll turbo is great crack. Not sure which would be quicker in a straight line, maybe a BE5 owner on here is up to a challenge and we can find out!

No way at all to get the boxer rumble out of the new ones though unless you swap the headers which means swapping out turbo and a load of other pipe work, not worth the hassle. Impreza has the boxer rumble out of the factory. maybe get a drive in a few different models will help you make up your mind :subaru:

i get about 20mpg of mainly city driving

Sign up for the trackday dan and we'll find out

Cheers altezza-dan. i`ll have a gander around and get a few test drives like you said. Just wanted to get some expert opinions on here first.

I think the BL Auto's are the same power they use the same Turbo, The BE5 auto had smaller turbos to suit the transmission, they spool much quicker, with the bigger turbos it would be to laggy on kick down, nearly sure the BL doesn't have this problem so they kept it with the same map.
A standard BE is quicker than a Standard BL from my experience has more torque through out the rev range, I test drove a BL I didn't think it was as quick BUT of course these cars are so sensitive to so many different factors which effect performance it can't be taken as gospel i've also driven a lot of BE B4's that where different.

MPG is sh*t, lets face it. im getting bout 500 klms out of a tank approx € 70 at todays petrol prices. These cars arent built for high mpg. This is my first subaru and I wont be changing , im doing approx 1500 klms a month, I use it as a daily driver for work and i'm a rep. touch wood it hasnt skipped a beat at all, such comfort & power.

Best purchase I have ever made and thats a fact.

I get about 320kms out of the same size tank on my BE5... And i do 500kms per week minimum just to and from work... Needles to say the leggy doesn't get a run during the week

the auto uses the VF38 turbo whereas the manual uses the slightly bigger TD04HLA-19T

Count yourselves lucky!!it'd be a miracle if my yoke got that kinda mpg

I wud get no where near 500kms out of my yoke even if i was driving like a granny

Got nearly 450km's on the motorways in france but that was doing a constant 120kms for about 4 fours

wat id do to get around the 400km on a tank id be lucky to get 230km on the impreza :angry1:

There is something wrong with your car. Thats about 11mpg, a V10 Gallardo will do 20.

Is that boot down all the time? :ponder:

When i was on Modball we were doing about 130mph for a good while and a 1/4 of a tank went in about 5 mins but that was 99 octane stuff and that was well high in the rev's in 5th so was drinking the stuff

we had a full diagnostics done on the car about a month after we bought it and everything was fine the only other thing that i could think of could be that our clock is in mph instead of km

You would be surprised what new plugs can do for you. even with the clocks in miles you would still only be getting 17 which is still sh!t for a standard car, if the clocks where converted to miles you would know by the speedo it would read 60kmh when you were doing 100kmh.
Weird one I can't see any car running 11mpg unless your running a shed load of boost.
