love them.
make sure you get one that properly done, manifold has to be done right.
or the if it was me id get it done right myself and use a gti-6 engine instead.
can't speak for the M116 but I used to have a 1.9 GTI, absolutley loved it, closest you'll get to a fire breathing go cart, the crackle off the exhaust on the limiter is a beautiful thing..... who needs anti lag when you've a 205 gti...
205 GTI is an icon not to many good ones left, had one a few years back and it was one of the best cars i have ever owned had to sell it as the wife needed a car and as well as having it i had a Golf GTI at the same time so i gave in to her and sold the 205........
im sorry i sold my 1st one, worst thing i ever did.
and a 205 is more exclucive than any civic.
iv only seen two on the road ever id say.............maybe some day again when the right one comes along.
It was a 1.6 version in silver which was kinda rare for here, had a look at a few 1.9s at the time but they wanted stupid money for them, think UK is best way to go for one now.
think i payed 3,500 for the 1.6 phase2 i had from a dealer way down past rathmines.
and 1,500 for the 1.9 phase 1.5 from another dealer in dublin.
think i prefered the the 1.6 then, but drove one lately and was impressed with the power.
theres not many on pistonheads at the min. good ones anyway.
i have a 205 with a gti6 in it. weighs about two bachelors beancans and has 200bhp, its great fun. but can be a bit soft for someone with a heavy foot. the civic's are pretty much bullet proof
