i had a hole in the rad ages ago, got it sorted but ever since there stains around the header tank and the refill yoke on the right.
im not over heating or anything.
will i just change the tank and it should be ok?

That happens to my fiesta.

It is over heating and the water is boiling out of it. The colour is just rust in the system. Not sure what causes it so would be interested in the answer to.
 
its been like that for a year or so and the gauge hasnt gone up and no steam.
but when it was over heating the last time before i change the rad.
i did kinda boil it cos i had to get it home.
and was putting in water every few min.
 
Could have damaged the rubber seals on the Water bottle and the tank when you boiled it. You could try changing them first.

I have been topping the fiesta up for the past three years now. Not worth spending money on to find the problem.
 
there for a while it was drinkn water and coolent.
il change the tank and pipes, see what happens.
its never ending :D
just looks nasty when your looking at the engine
 
The same thing was happening to my Mrs starlet, it was the engine coolant sensor that was gone in her's, but it it could easliy be
the rad, water pump or head gasket so maybe try rad weld 1st to save you buying a rad if its knackered. Good luck.
 
sorted, i had the two pipes the left of the rad cap on the wrong way.
no more dirty water coming out.
