i understand the difficulties you face in dealing with that..kids throwing sh!t at you no one willing to help but it just goes around in circles unless something is done fcuking anything is better than nothing...if that had of been an estate in Templeogue how long before the Gardai would arrive?
i remeber robbed cars and the gangs when i was a kid but it wasnt as brazen as that in the middle of the afternoon on someones road...and because they got away with it the next one will be worse
 
well thats our problem we lack resources, its the government!!!!
but take paddys they for example, riots in finglas people who were on there way to the shop were pulled out of their cars
beaten up, the car rallied around in front of them and set alight!!!! a total of 15 cars robbed and burnt out, numerous people
hospitalised all innocent!!!!! we come in then clear the lot off and get everything back to normal, and we're the bad guys!!!!!

i had to work nearly a 30 hour shift as we had no resources to back us up!!!!!

i understand wat you mean but at the end of the day we can only do our best, i dont wanna start a debate over it!

where i live there was a riot started and a group of about 100 gathered up with bricks n all types of weapons and stole every car that passed and burnt it out ryt in front of them and the police act sat in ther riot vans n sat n watched it didnt get out of ther cars or that to stop it what did they do drive up near them scared them back a bit then all continued again till the people got bored of doin it was a show of strength and i dont even think people where arrested over it peoples cars where act taken outa ther drive 1 was a friend of mine and drove into a tree n set alight. ther was act a disabled person told to get outa ther car they couldnt walk and they got bricks threw threw windows at them this has happened twice now these riots iv seen it all i was standing watchin it.

In fairness, if you were one of the guards or police up the north, would you go in to the middle of a riot? especially if you were outnumbered 10 to 1? I know i fookin wouldnt, I'd rather wait until it fizzles out and then go back to my family at the end of my shift and im sure thats how they feel. The guards dont have the resources to deal with that level of violence.

@ Dagnut - I understand completely what your saying about if it had happened in Templogue but there is a big difference sending a single squad car to templeogue compared to the depths of west finglas. I agree with what you said above, not all of them are beyond saviour. One of my best mates is from west finglas and he's one of the soundest lads you'd ever meet. Thats mainly down to the fact that he learned to box when he was young and had a place to go rather than being on the street all day. They need something to do and maybe they could find a way out.

A lot of them are beyond saviour and with them i blame the parents, the parents attitude is fu*k the police and lets get wasted. there is a girl that was given a house across the road from my parents, she has a young kid thats about 6 years old now. The mother is always out of her head, and the boyfriend came over one night and when he was leavin, he reversed into my ma's car. When my da went out he was greeted with "i'm the biggest drug dealer around here and if you call the police, i'll burn your house down with every1 inside it". He was wanted by the police at the time but thankfully he got his the following week when he was shot ( :D no loss). But the kid left in the middle of that, whats she supposed to do, thats the attitude that she'll grow up with now unfortunately
 
know what ya mean what its like that round my area with people, the police are stopping 1s for doing the stupidest things and there are others out there getting raped, stabbed, killed, robbed and all sorts and getting away with it. my mate was driving down the road and a car was in front of him racing and the police pull both of us in and car in front and said yous where racing each other there wtf like wasted about half and hour of are time checked all round car n that took as long as he could to piss us off and the funny thing is i knew the guy in car in front and he was at football match earlier with my other mates and was lit outa his head driving and police didnt even notice but i didnt wana tout on him but then again very dangerous letting him go on in that state i just didnt take anythin to do with what happens next he was driving like a nutter lit outa his head about the town fuckin pratt like :lol:
 
i used to live in the coolock area (moatview) and every night without fail there was a robbed car being flogged by dimwits that had no clue or idea it got to the point that no garda would attempt to come into the estate and if you wanted to order takeaway then you were in trouble as no one dared go near the place

after 9 guys tried to break into the house i was staying at i called the garda when they eventually turned up they tried doing me for tax and insurance on my car whilst the lads who tried to break in were down the road laughing and whistling at the garda and when i pointed this out i was told if i carried on i would be arrested for breach of the piece, when this was going on i asked flames (who's house it was at the time) where the parents were she just replied at the pub no doubt


i am not having a go at the garda i know they do a hard enough job as it is i blame the "we cant do anything attitude" of the parents and the government if anything the laws that were brought out to protect the children has backfired and has taken away the rights of the parents to disipline them if i even thought of backchatting my dad i would be visiting the nearest a+e (old git i know)
 
i lived in the flats in kilbarrack all my life up till i was 15. i never seen a nite go by were there was not at least one robbed car. during the day there would be robbed cars flashing about also. plus then in the flats is were it would all happen with junkies liven on my ladin in at the rubbish shoot. there was raids every week. i moved then from the flats across the road and i am still living here. the reason i am sayin this is that i own a scooby doo and a 106 rallye, have a steady job as a manager the last 7 years ever since i did my leaving cert and it is all to do with how my parents especially my mother raised me. not once was i let out off hand with the rest off the scum around the place and dont worry i was no angel but not one person on my road or around kilbarrack have anything to actually live for from my age group. all my old school mates are locked up,dead or out off there face daily. :hang:

parents are the ones from these areas like finglas,coolock and ballymun need to be brought on a day out with us and let them see wat there kids could live for but as for there kids its too late. they will rob,take or do anything wat they feel they can to get the so call buzz they get doing it.

your spot keith but at least when we where youngfellas we could hop the dart out to howth or town and buzz around..not much but in finglas the kids dont even have a bus..not just finglas thats just an example.
As you said about your Ma your from a good family where you where set good examples
 
We have buses in finglas! :ponder: We also still have GAA, Football theres also three cheap Gyms, Swimming pool, two Pitch and put courses! Cinemas only a bus ride away! Judo and Karatey clubs! Out door football Pitches with Flood lights up by the fire station. Local youth Discos, And theres still the river and Feilds that I hug around and played in as a kid!

Not to mension what he schools have to offer these kids! Canoeing, Rock climbing and hill walking, Basket ball, athletics and so on!

They just don't have the interest any more! :dunno:
 
your probably right eric i don't understand youth culture anymore....it just seems worse to me somehow..I don't remember blatant car jackings like the riots..probably doesn't help that they have more disposable cash for drink and drugs..we i was a teenager you had to scrap together enough for a few cans..maybe 4 at the most i seen a load of kids middle of the week they had bags and bags of dutch gold..your ma gives you 20 euro pocket money now they can probably buy 10 cans and a few E's enough to get them properly mashed for a whole day then they just run amuck.
I don't know what to think about it all I keep changing my opinions but at least we are debating it...kids now are just so wide to everything with crazy videos on their mobiles and the internet etc..a friend of my mothers lad was down in the mothers house.. 13..he had a video of about 6 blokes giving it to this girl in a house party...and another of a happy slapping he thought it was great..have to say it made me think that sh*t would have to have an effect on your thinking..get totally desensitised to violence
 
Young people these days are awful show offs. They all want to be better than the next fella. I see it on nights out fella's taking off there tops and even firing phones, shoes etc into the river after a night out. Its the same with robbing cars, they are all showing off and being more of a header than the next fella.
 
we where sheltared as kids, allowed to keep our innosence! Some kids today just want everything now! There parent are lazy fucks that never worked a day in there lives, and Just drink all day! The world has become more meterialistic and these kids have them as their roll models! They want thing but don't know anything about working for it! So theyjust take the easy option, take it!

absoultely unreal , hope none of da cars from here fall foul of scum like that,
