Just wondering is there any special timing belt i should get or is the one from main dealer as good as they get??
 
Belt from a company called GATES, from any motorfactor is spot on. one of the best you can get,

AFAIK The GATES belt is the standard Suabru belt.
 
yeah gates made the genuine belt for years..

not sure if they still do...........

but as above one the best you can get...
 
I think they still do. There is another brand that did make them for Suabru years ago aswell. Cant think of the name now.
 
Would agree with the lads. Gates belts are the only ones worth getting.

The friend owns a garage and that's all they stock. They have tried other brands but always come back to Gates. They seem to be one of the better belt brands on the market.
 
I got one here think it was in a place in rathgar same as that one on flee bay for cheeper than that ill try get the name and number 4 u :thumbsup:
 
Right lads i found a gates timing belt in galway. The mechanic said i should also change the tensioner and the idlers. Any need to do this? Probably cost me another F'N fortune
 
well 77k on the clock but it was changed from km to miles if that makes any difference? They never changed the milage
 
ya it costs a whole pile more but imo i wouldnt go that far with the labour and not change them :dunno:
