Once again-many thanks to the irish govt. for their extremely fair vrt system. Well done lads-

Surely the VRT system favours dealers in the republic..!!??
It prevents a lot of people bringing in cars from abroad and makes them buy in Ireland.

No surprise dealerships are closing, I have seen very little 09 cars.

Sad news this is ,at least every week ye hear of another car dealership/multi-car dealer closeing there doors........ dealers are under severe pressure i understand this as a car dealer myself ,alot of dealers are loosing money every week and they wount be able to keep doing that.....

How could vrt possibly favour dealers or buyers? You take the basic price of a car-then add vat-and then add vrt on that total-tax on tax-how is that a good thing? :ponder2:

And to be sure this wont be the last garage to close up , many more will be closed come christmas ,

there doesn't seem to be any improvement coming either and waterford lost another couple a hundred jobs today ,were screwed

Might weed out few dodgy dealers and force better service from established dealers so might work out in our favour ,

Sorry for the guys on the dole, but i had serious trouble with main dealers in general. How do they expect to sell any thing when the majority wanted a straight sale. Not one in the past 6 months was interested in a cash part exchange. Now 6 mths later the cars i was interested in buying are still there losing value in the sales yard :icon_nana:
