right lads ive my type r on dd last few days, have gotten good few offers of px all of bad un sell-able things tezza,r33,twin cam.3.0 auto petrol private x5 :hammerhead:

i have very good cash offer on my van :) so i need to sell this for cash and im leaving on a jet plane due to being un employed carpenter :wall:

so whats my best be to get the money in for this????
im on few other car sites and notice s13,s14,s15 20v levins all getting broken
but is there demand for subaru parts???
car is nct and taxed on the button imo too good to break but needs must and all that!!!

what are yer views???
dont tell me car is over priced either
http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2561173

she looks to good to break alright and it wouldnt be worth breaking as you wouldnt get more than 2-3 grand if broke.

what turbo is she running??and did you fit the v6 rear spoiler and front bumper yourself? its a v4 ya?

i woundnt take px on anything as nothing is selling.

what do you recon is your lowest price you would take for it, as that is what i would advertise it for.

It's kind of a contradiction in terms really...you say it's not overpriced but it's not selling....and then I see you're only selling it a few days?? It's a horrible situation when your leaving the country and you want rid of a car...I've been there, you don't want to get low balled but you don't wanna be stuck either..
I definitely wouldn't break it sure how long would it take you to sell lit in parts? and as duffman says you won't recoup anywhere near 7k

agree with the boys there , but you ll not get 7000 for it anyway, everything has went down in value ,your not a victim just the norm .

everyone who wanted performance cars bought them when thing were good ,a lot of people in that bracket have left the country for work or are trying to survive with what they have .

i am not telling you the car is overpriced ,because you already know that with seeing others for sale for less but one sure thing is that no car except the odd rare ones are going up in value ,so what ever its worth today its worth less in 6/12 months time

i bet the people with x5 ,is200 etc are getting calls to take subarus, evo etc in p/x as well

i am no busting your balls BUT you did ask for our view on this :)

Performance cars are nearly a thing of the past in Ireland except for the fue who can afford to keep them as weekend toys, i'm even starting to doubt my decision to buy another legacy, come january next year i expect alot of lads here will be selling up tbh. Bite the bullet and drop the price and i'd say take the first offer close to 5k, sorry to say it mate, 5k will go alot further where ever your going than a parked up type r will over here.

7k are you mad, cop yourself on ffs. Threads like this wreck my head, lads moaning they cant sell their car when they look just plain stupid money..
Your car is 98 v4 and has a few odd bits, if you want to sell it 4k-4500 max is what it will make either to sell or break your choice. You wont get 5, 6 or the colour of 7k, 99 v5 and v6s are barely making 5 to 5500 and your looking 7 for a v4 :cuckoo:

Spot on there Ken

Who mapped it and what turbo are you using to be running 1.6bar?

Also, in your add you say that its just had a new timing belt but in your for sale add from last december you had done the timing belt 9000kms previous? The cars hardly done another 40k kms in 9 months of weekend only driving, has it?

I know you were looking for the quarter panel stickers recently but you have them on backwards so I assume nothing was there before that to guide you? I only ask because in my experience of looking at type r's, the only reason that the stickers were removed in the first place is because the panels have seen paint for one reason or another. Not saying in all cases, just in all the cases i've seen. Are you the only owner in the country? Have you had to paint the car at all?

Edit: I see that all stickers were present when you tried to sell it last year so maybe you were just going for the clean look for a while?

What were you actually thinking of taking for the car and when are you leaving the country? The mods are worth a few quid but I wouldn't think its worth more than €4-4,500 if you were to advertise for €5k.

Also, those who may be interested may not like the 22B bumper and grill as its just bit part replica and may need to factor in changing to a standard bumper/grill set up.

Oh, and yes it looks too good to break

Plus the fact that you'll get nowhere near full sale value in parts and it'll take months and for you to shift everything. And if you look to sell it to a breaker's, they'll give you virtually nothing for the car

kinda exactly what i expected but there is not a chance is hell you well get a same spec and clean type r for 4k to 4.5K
very very few mapped and running simtek ecu
lets no be all talk ere show me links to dd,adverts,ph i will be SHOCKED!

also car is price for 7000 with all standard parts
shocks cat and exhaust upipes top mount alloys boot door spoiler head lights few other bits or did ye not take that into account???if some one was busy and didnt want them price would be reduced :)
knec my good man i think your loosing it,you will only get rough and ready type r for that sh*t all spec if any

on the idea of breaking it could one or two of ye in the KNOW throw up GUIDE/ROUGH prices ont he main things shell running gear etc if its not adding up i could knock that idea on the head straight away thanks

its not worth breaking no matter what

i recon its worth 6k ono beacause of the extra's and thats if the body is good.

only the v5/6 go for 7/8k with your spec and or with an engine build.

what turbo is she running?

mapped by sti tuning last oct never missed a beat top quality work!!
well spotted it is after two timing belts first one was as it was due 2nd was done 2weeks ago as i noticed drop of oil under car took it to mechanic after bit off looking around spotted where it was coming from(front crank seal) so while replacing that seal oil/engine cleaner got on belt didnt want to take chance that it might perish so new belt was bought better save than sorry imo

car was re painted in feb/march went under bit of a change of look new wheels rear lights(one had crack) the look of carbon spoiler wore out on me that was taking off v6 spoiler fitted few other small bits aswell as i didn't intended on leaving

i like the clean look never bothered with stickers as i was putting it up for sale said id have it right left car at sticker man came back to find them on that way :angry1:
its ok all is good being changed on sat for new ones right way round :)

also dont think ill be changing bumper/grill think it looks way better that way

its not that im not getting calls tex bout car its im worryed ill take car lesser value and be stuck with that hence why i said worth my while to break it
also thanks for replys :)

A clean, straight, well minded car is virtually impossible to come by in this country so if it is as you say, then it is worth a premium imo. But on the flip side of the coin, most potential buyers haven't got a clue where to look for signs of crash damage or previous paint so you are fighting a battle against people who advertise, with conviction, that their car is 'mint/never crashed' bollox.

Are you the first owner in the country? Why did you decide to paint it? I assume its now flawless? I thought it looked a bit fresher than last years for sale add alright.

Is it still running standard turbo or upgraded?

Any chance we can get a Bitch slap smiley on here???..
Seriously wake up.
You must think for some reason you are the only one in this country that has a car that has escaped the down turn... as regards showing you links, i couldnt be arsed, if your to lazy and out of touch to not have seen what these cars are making for last year or more why should anyone bother to do it for you..
This whole thread is pointless, you want to sell quick.. but are now wanting to break  Quick and breaking are at opposite ends of the spectrum so my good man i think your the one thats loosing it...
Even things you are saying are odd, it got a rebuild but yet your crank seal went, you changed the Timing belt again because you got Cleaner on the belt when changing the oil seal... You are some operator if you can change a front oil seal with belt in place :icon_rolleyes:

So to amuse you here goes.
Engine 1k
Box and rear Diff maybe 700.
Rolling paneled shell, glass, and loom, drives.. possibly 1500-1800
Simtec 700
Interior possibly 300ish
All will only take around probably 3 months if you can sell it all in bulk like above.. but you will get the im looking for a drive, im looking fo a hub, im looking for a little rubber gromit calls before you get the big stuff sold
Seriously Get real if you want to sell stick her up for 5k, sell for 4500 probably in 2 or 3 weeks if lucky..

you"d do well to get 4.5k straight, yokes are selling, just have to have them at the money,i rarely have a yoke fore sale more than a week and its gone. but 4.5 is top whack for me on type r

Lots of timewasters out there who won"t buy,its worth what a mans giving you on the day and thens its down to how stuck you are.

doesnt matter a fcuk wether its mapped, what turbo its running,,blah, blah,if its chancey and tidy it"ll sell,if you wanna shift that car, pull the simtek out,rob a few bits, donedeal 3.5k.....sold in hours or days, sell few bits after,

at the end of the day you"ll buy an 06 tdi passat for 6k,thats what most folk want, not a subaru

you wont show me links cos they arent out there but hey that just my veiw as you have yours!!
i never said i wanted quick sale ever all i said was i want money/cash not a px against car
did i see it got rebuild???dont think so???am i wrong

as earlier said(wording might no have been the best)but before the leak was identified to seal engine cleaned was used to clean under neath to find exactly where oil was coming from and between that and while belt was off oil was noticed on belt didnt think just a wipe down of cloth would do so bought new one :)

when you say engine 1 k whats included bear or with turbo etc??
i was thinking more 2k for shell but that ok its in same rough price as yours
im not out to have disagreement with you at all and thanks for your reply
