mate of mine got his 06 sti today and he has all these great ideas about mods . but when it comes to it why would you change parts that subaru has spent millions designing and testing to perform on the car .and surely all these intakes and exhausts and intercoolers you will probably never get the best of unless on the track.i have no mods on my type r and never had a problem, because its a great car and thinking interfering with it might take away from the car and the way its supposed to be.just wondering what yeah think on this subject.

OMG :shock2:

Modding sencibly, to optimise the cars potential for real world driving,
I have gone a bit to far with mine, in that, I don't beleive that there is anything (except the shell) that I have left unmodified,
The perfect mods would be Whiteline "control" springs,
22mm adjustable White line Anti roll bars (just the rear one if he likes her tail happy)
15-20mm Eibach bolt on wheel spacers, to fill the big newage arches better!
Full motor sport geometry setup, Not advanced pitstop with maximum factory neg camber on the front (about -1.5)
And a good drop in panel filter, fuel pump (both cheap enough) and a Remap to acheive her full potential! (usually upwards of 320bhp)

Still hungry after that, then get a full de-catted system, and tweek map to get another 20-25bhp
Still hungry? If she is a 2.5 I'd defo bolt a TD05-20g turbo to her and 740cc injectors and an induction kit, and tweek map (390bhp)
None of the above has any reliablity issues, and the whiteline control range is very comfy, A bit firmer and lower than standard, but makes a huge differance in stablity and stance
That was a nice little trip down memory lane!

as above...

Is it jap 2.0L Twin Scroll or UK 2.5L STi?

Regards modify.

Absolutely no problem to certain levels safely if done correctly.
