I'm well aware this isn't a motoring show anymore but even as an entertainment show I thought last nights episode was pretty weak.

Never came so close to turning off an episode of it as I was last night

Your just getting old and grumpy that's all

i dont even watch it anymore, i record it so i can fast forward true all the crap.

its so predictable and childish at this stage.

fifth gear is better in therms of looking after the drivers out there

I agree Duffman, they are like a pair of naughty school boys (Clarkson and Hammond) with the comic relief supplied by James May. What's with Hammonds designer hair do and that stupid thing around his neck that he must have taken from his teenage daughters bedroom, grow up Richard, there's a good boy. It's so obviously scripted with JM as the fall guy that it's a bit irritaing, lucky for me I have Sky+.

One of the cable channels started showing the original of the new series with JC and RH recently and at that point it was a motoring show for car enthusiasts. You can see the audience then have the look of people who are into cars but half the audience you see now, more the ladies I reckon, look like they are trying to get noticed. The old series when Clarkson was a fresh faced mouthy blow in was more akin to Fifth Gear I reckon. Fifth Gear has come on in leaps and bounds too and I often think it is too short but that may be because they cram a lot into the half hour although, like Sweetcakes, I think Tiff Needel is a pratt. VBH on the other hand :653:. I think there's something really hot about a girl chucking a car around a race track while chattering away cooly to the camera, chubby or not.

As far as the trashing of the VW this week is concerned, why? Waste of time money and not even funny, kind of like college humour, which I think sums up the current Top Gear. It's like it has been dummed down, perfect for it's largest new audience - America :1poke:.

Funny you should say this I saw photos posted of the same girl(model by the looks of it) in the audience twice in the same series...so looks like they are placing people in the audience to improve the image which is just a load of boll0x

why bother lookin at it if all ye do is winge,if people dont like it why watch it plenty of other channels :icon_blahblah:

They've definitely being doing that for the last couple of years - placing people (usually young girls) at the front of the audience!

i understand were your coming from dec BUT

really there is only two car programes on the tv, topgear and fifth gear, ever car man has been watching topgear for 30+years and as far as i can remember, fifth gear are only on the tv about 10 years now and not on stardard channels, so not everyone see it.

my point been, car people want something to watch car related and topgear has provided that for years but now has gone ridiculous, i love cars and caravans(because there great to have an excuse to put the foot down to overtake them), but why they think its funny to blow up a caravan or drop a beetle from a mile up i dont know because for me and many others, its not.
why i keep watching, is because its like a drug, your always chasing the dragon, one week its brillant with no predictabality and then the next its unwatchable, we give out about it, watch fifth gear on the net and wait for the following sunday to get are hit again, when topgear pass off some crap baking powder as the real deal it normally doesnt go down well and some people get abit angry.

topgear need to get real and grow up, there live shows are a joke because people know whats coming, ten years ago it was execllent as it was new and bold but the same joes get boring and bring on celebrities that dont care about cars, there only on to plug a book or a film and have done every other chat show that week aswell and some have no interest in cars, couldnt tell you who the f1 champion was or wrc champion of any year and couldnt care less what car they drive, why dont they have a racing driver on every week to see there lap time and speak about some of there funny stories in the professional driver world which would be intersting.

p.s some of you may have noticed im writing alot longer messages in the last few weeks, well get use to it, im out of work and nothing else to do but piss you's lot off, ha ha

Thats a fair point johnny and I do agree but I cant understand why people watch something they think is crap and to be fair some of the things done in fifth gear are crap also, its very hard to produce something that appeals to everyone thats why programmes like tg an fg can be hit and miss such a vast audience to cater for ,just my opinion on it
